ICANN
Internet Corporation for assigned names and numbers. ICANN is a Non-Profit organization in charge of overseeing domain name disputes and maintaining overall control of the domain name system.
Icon
A graphic symbol, usually small, used in a computer program to represent an object or process.
IDE
Integrated Drive Electronics. The method by which most hard drives, internal CD-ROM drives, and other internal storage devices are connected to a computer. Modern hard drives are referred to as UDMA or Ultra ATA, but they are still IDE based.

The most common web browser in use today used for viewing webpages. Available free of charge from Microsoft Corporation.
Internet Service Provider (ISP)
A person, organization, or company that provides access to the Internet. In addition to Internet access, many ISPs provide other services such as Web hosting, name service, and other proprietary services.
IRC
Internet Relay Chat. The live chat area of the Internet in which real time conversations between two or more people take place in virtual "rooms" or channels.
